Happy Holidays from the Javors!
This is our first Christmas together and we would like to wish all of you the happiness and joy we experience every day and especially during this special season. Nineteen ninety-nine was a busy and fun-filled year for us, and we were blessed in so many ways. It is our hope that God has given to you as abundantly as He has given to us.
Ed's year saw the transition from intern to senior resident in the field of Internal Medicine. After surviving a grueling eleven months without any vacation, he finished off his academic year the first week of June - just in time to don a tuxedo and stand in front of a bunch of people to say "I do." He surprised his new bride with a three-week dream honeymoon which included stops in the new Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas, the luxury resort Turtle Island in Fiji, and the beautiful city of Sydney "down under" in Australia. Once back home again, he barely had time to move into his "new" home before all the fun of senior residency started. So far the rotations have been reasonably paced, but he's looking forward to coming months of MICU and CCU call with some apprehension.
This was also a big year for Gina. In May she very happily received her diploma from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. Most of her family was there to help her commemorate this great event. One week later, she once again marched down the aisle, this time at her wedding. Months and months of planning and dreaming all culminated on this wonderful day surrounded by friends and family. Many of you were there to join us in celebrating our special day, and we thank you again for your affirmation of our newly formed family. The honeymoon continues....
In July Gina started her internship in Preventive Medicine at Loma Linda. She feels lucky to be able to work with Ed on occasion. This month we were especially fortunate, as we both happen to be doing the same rotation in Endocrinology. This means we get to see each other in clinic every single day. What a lovely way to end this year! Both of us also enjoy the occasional break from medicine by playing violin and tuba with the church orchestra and various other community music groups. How grateful we are for the gift of music!
We have been blessed to have families that have shared our joys and conflicts through the years. Although we may not see you as often as we would like, our hearts are with you during this season of giving. We pray that the spirit of the Baby born in Bethlehem will surround all of you this Christmas and in the following year, the big 2000. Hope your computers don't crash!
Love,
Gina and Ed Javor
