Hello all and Merry Christmas 2006!

Our year has flown by, and this month has been no exception. December has been remarkably full of music programs, workplace parties, and family events. Let us fill you in on our year to date:

January – Much celebrating as we entered the new year. However, we were stunned by the loss of Ed’s Grandma Ilona while in surgery for hip fracture repair at the end of the month. It was a time for reminiscing, as well as looking forward in hope of reunion with her.

February – Gina found out she passed Preventive Medicine boards (and there was much rejoicing). She started working part-time in the Fontana Kaiser Preventive Medicine Department, and loves it!

March – Joined our brass friends at a BLAST! concert, a brilliant brass and percussion show that draws from the rich tradition of military, band, and drum corps. What a WOW! experience.

June – Observed our 7th anniversary by indulging in some special treatment at a nearby day spa. Mmmmm…. Ed’s dad retired from LLU after a cumulative 37 years of teaching. We commemorated this event with “E. coli Happens” t-shirts.

July – Enjoyed fireworks with family from our new deck (work in progress). Took some time off for a wonderful short trip up northern California and into Oregon and Washington, using a friend’s wedding as an excuse. Surprised Mom and Jeanine to pieces and spent three great days with them in Pasco, toured lovely Lake Tahoe with friends, and wrapped it up with a weekend in Yosemite with grandparents Ken and Doris Cummings.

September – Started off the month with a bang by once more attending our traditional John Williams Hollywood Bowl summer concert. Other concerts this month included the Carmina Burana spectacular with fireworks at the Hollywood Bowl, and a TOTO concert in LA. Our eardrums are only just recovering. Cummings grandparents came down for a short visit, coincidently on Grandma Doris’ birthday. We celebrated by eating loads of Mexican food.

October – Landmark year: Mom and Dad move to New Leipzig, ND, despite the dire warnings of friends and family far and near. (Just kidding – they’re loving life in their new home.) Prepared for sister Susan Javor’s baby shower weekend in Phoenix.

November – We have a niece! Paige Nicole Javor joined the family on the 19th and has been the delight of her parents, grandparents, and aunt and uncle ever since. Spent Thanksgiving with Mom and Dad at their Ramona timeshare.

December – Having a ball with Mom and Dad (Javor) as they visit for the holidays, and looking forward to spending time with  siblings Ron and Edith Cummings and Dad (Cummings) for the actual Christmas festivities. Mom and Gina have set a phone date to make Guatemalan tamales – yippee! Thus far this month we have participated in some kind of music program every single weekend – wouldn’t have it any other way.

In the midst of many blessings, we ask your prayers for Gina’s family as her sister Jeanine continues to face health challenges. What better time of year to rest in God’s promise of peace, joy, and goodwill to all! May you have a wonderful holiday season.

Love, Ed & Gina
